Final Preview on My Tasks

After 11 weeks of working on the project, I want to review on all things that I have done:

1) Project leader:

• Pointed out the project's concept.
• Considered the technology needed to apply on the project.
  To illustrate, I decided that we should use Chroma key for all of the video; how to construct the flash like, divided the whole flash into smaller pieces and linked them together.
  
• Encouraged the team members to do at their best.
• Took care of the time line, the appointments with the dancers.

2) Motion Graphic Designer:

• Created the visual effects for the dance performances.
• Made the interface of the main flash and sub flashes.
• Worked on the action script to create the visual effects.

3) Creative Director:

• Directed how we shoot the videos (the way the dancers move, how they appeared and disappeared.
• Solved the technical problems that other team members met when they were implementing the project.
• Finalized the project, collected all works from team members and combined them into the whole one.
• Tested the project, to see if they had any thing wrong, and gave the feedback to team members; had them to fix them out.
  

The deadline is comming

We are in the hard phase of the project;

The more we work on it, the more works appear ^_^

Trung is working on action script, and structure the main flash.

Cuong is processing the images used for sildeshow and gallery.

Lam is re-designing and adjusting the overal design to make the interface more sleek and nicer.

Compose the more detail story board

Alright, it's time to decide how the flash gonna be played in details
How it look like?
Which effects will be applied?
How parts link together?

These question above will be answered in the story board.

Human Management

Once the project has gone over 50% of its path, there were something new I have just recognized. Managing and dealing with human is far more difficult than with technical issues.
Human cause lots of troubles; your project would have a chance to crash if only one of the people envolded in the team was absent or disappear.

Being a team manager, I must communicate with many different kind of people, the team members, of course, the multimedia-assistant, the cameramen, the dancers, the MC, the maintenance, etc.

However, this's not a main point. I love to communicate with people! ^_^

Video Shooting Schedule

the next Tuesday is the impotant day for our project; all the video materials are shooted on that day!
So, to make sure that things gonna go on well, i have made a video shooting schedule, including which person is envolved, which time to shoot, and how to shoot, etc.

Latest Mock-ups for the Flash

I have created a new mock-up for our Flash; the inspiration came from 3d tutorials that Trung have taught us, and black silk.

Style:

• Contemporary
• Clean
• Sleek

Finished the communication with the Dancer

I has had a talked with Ms. Vu Hoai Anh this yesterday afternoon about our project.
She has promised to support us 2 young talented dancers, her students, for the video shooting.
Hoai Anh said she did'nt want to be shooted because she is now just 'an old dinosaur'.

I must admitted that she is kind of oldness, but she still be really sexy when looking at. ^_^

I think I gonna join her dance class so far!

Key techniques for the project

The project is mainly focused on video, so I'd like to illustrate how videos are made for this project.

Creating a virtual scence in photoshop.

Latest News about the Dancers

I have researched our's potential dancer information, they are Vũ Hoài Anh and Lã Quý Lâm.
Most of the information is in Vietnamese, but it is not a problem, because Vietnamese is our team's native language.

Here is a brief introduction about the dancers:

• Vũ Hoài Anh is the leader of Dance Sport Team in Hochiminh City, Vietnam. Together with Lã Quý Lâm, she has attended the Sea Game 23 and other international dance contest.
• Vũ Hoài Anh is not only the dancer, but also be a fashion designer and a assistant for Sĩ Hoàng Fashion.
• Vũ Hoài Anh and Lã Quý Lâm are also Dance Tutors for the RMIT Dance Club in Vietnam.

Every Day Is A New Day

Today is such a long day!

I have found out how to make the vieo-background become transparent when importing into flash. Thanks to http://www.dvcreators.net/discuss/showthread.php?t=10963 ^_^

I also finished the Gannt Chart for the project.

All the dance styles have been searched over the internet.

A big chance for today

We have came up with a new concept for our final project!

I have tested how to apply the chroma key into video (cut off the backgound), and put the video into flash.

The only technical problem left is that when inport the video flash into the flash the backgournd is not transparent! I will try to find the way to solve this tonight!!!

The happy news is the RMIT Dance Club has accpeted to corporate with the team for this project! ^_^
They will provide their best dancers for us to shoot the videos!

Searching for similar ideas

I have found out that there are a couple of websites using human-precording-video flash as the interface!

The 1st one is Miss Dewey, a searching engine, at www.missdewey.com
The 2nd one is Saigon Q Bar at http://www.qbarsaigon.com/

I am thinking how to make the different among these sitess, though still using human video as the atractive element to users.

Project Preparation

This afternoon, I and Trung, we got to buy the Vietnam Economic Times - THE GUIDE. The magazine provided a very good information on which places for travellers to eat, to drink, to relax, to entertain.
I decided to made a database for these inforamtion, cuz it will be useful to conect to the flash site later, I think.
But wait a moment, if we have to make a database, which kind of program is used to make it, Excel, MS-Access, etc. I don't know.
It's properly better to ask Pinky, my database's lecturer! Yup, I gonna see her tomorow!

So, let's point out the main thing I gonna do for the next couple of days:
1. Check out which program is used to create a database (tomorow).
2. Hire a typrewriter to type all the imformation needed for the data base (16 pages).
3. Test the video-flash techniques, to see if it works well :: will do this on Monday afternoon!
